Breathe in. Breathe out. It happens so naturally. We do it without thinking about it. But it’s important to take the time to think about it and be grateful for each breath you take.
Breathing exercises are beneficial for our mental health and emotional health. They help to relax you, can aid in stabilizing your mood, and allow us to take a moment to pause.
It’s also important to remember that many people struggle with the simple act of breathing. Some have serious medical issues that make it difficult to take in a breath and others suffer from mental health problems that can cause physiological sign such as hyperventilation and difficulty breathing. Thus, taking time to do breathing exercises can help build compassion for those who struggle to breathe.
Throughout this site are different breathing exercises to help you relax, recharge, and reflect.
For this particular exercise, try not to think and instead focus on your breath. You can choose to follow along with the audio, where I talk you through the exercise, or watch the video and follow along with the text in the video.
